Last year Nic Case set the world record for the fastest top speed of an rc vehicle at an amazing 134.4 mph. This year Nic returned with three vehicles in his arsenal - a box van with a full-blown pit space which doubled as a monstrous drivers stand. Nic brought an electrified Schumacher Fusion, huge dragster, and a custom built prototype car. The track was extremely windy and there were problems with traction but Nic was able to pull off a thunderous 127.2 mph run before (not sure here) getting airborne and smashing in to the concrete barrier narrowly missing George Gonzalez who was bravely manning the radar gun. Nic was just 7.2 mph shy of his previous record, and although he couldn't beat it, he was yet again the first and second fastest entrant.

Danny Quinn
Danny's entry is based off a Traxxas Street Sport that he bought off eBay for under $100. But don't let Street Sport's reputation or the price make you think any less of this awesome ride. Danny was able to hit 67.6 mph with the help of a Mamba Max motor/esc combo which seemed to be the fan-favorite motor/speed control of the day. He flipped the front wheels around for a tad bit of extra stability and added some foam tires on the back.
Results: 62.7 mph, 67.6 mph, 64.6 mph

Dave Cornell
Dave Cornell took an HPI Wheelie King and signifigantly lowered it with a wide variety of parts including shocks, bumpers, wheels, etc. He's got a Mamba Max esc/motor combo in there fed by two LiPo packs. The front bumper and mount looks like the bottom of a HPI or Hot Bodies touring car. It is all topped off with a (??????) body. Dave was able to hit 72.9 mph with what is designed to go slower than your grandmother! Turning a rock crawler into an aerodynamic speed machine is a crazy idea but that's exactly what he did and the results came out rather nicely.
