2009 Midwest Electric Outlaw Dirt Oval Championships

Start Date: 02/27/2009
End Date: 02/28/2009
Track: Battle Front Gaming & R/C

Dirt oval racing including 4WD Late Models, 2WD Stadium Trucks and Slider Sprint cars.

Practice starts on February 27th at noon. Runs until 8:00 PM. A club racing program will start at 8:00 PM on Friday that will include 2 heats and a main. The cost for this event is $10, but only $5 if you're registered for the Championships on Saturday. John and Jason are very good about running as late as folks want to keep running, so practice will likely resume after the racing program. They have been known to allow racing into the early hours of the morning, but a lot will depend on how late the club racing program runs. The track will open on the 28th at 8am with registration ending around 10am and racing beginning by 11am. We may have tweak this time, depending on the number of entrees. Racing will consist of three heats and a main with drivers being re-sorted after the second heat race. Both heats and main races will be five minutes in duration. Plenty of pit space will be made available, regardless of how many entrees there are. John has secured the use of the roller hockey rink area for additional pit space with power, heat and restrooms.

* 4wd Outlaw Dirt Late Models 13.5 brushless/ 19 turn brushed motors, no tire or air dam restrictions.
* 4wd Outlaw Dirt Late Models 17.5 brushless/27 Turn Brushed, no tire or air dam restrictions.
* 2wd Sliders, 17.5 BL/27 turn brushed
* 2wd Sliders, 13.5/19turn brushed , don't know that we need a mod class, but if we do, we'll run one.
* 2wd Outlaw Stadium Truck 13.5/19, no air dam size restriction
* 2wd Outlaw Stadium Truck Mod, any motor, no air dam size restriction.
* Stock Slash possibly (these things are a lot of fun on the oval because they're competitive and relatively easy to keep on the track).

*****Lipos, foam, rubber, allowed in all classes.*****

We could also run some of the more traditional dirt oval classes, but these are the ones that show up on a weekly basis so I figure it's a good place to start. Early registration is encouraged and a significant price break will be given to those that register and pay early for this event.

Race Fees:

First Class $30 ($25 if paid before February 14th)
Additional Classes $15 ($10 if paid before February 14th)
Friday Practice $5 (free if you race Friday night)
Friday Club Race $10 First Class, $5 for additional classes

Even though this is an "Outlaw" event, with very few restrictions, if something crazy shows up, track management will have the final say on whether or not something is acceptable. Everyone wants this event to be a good time, so please don't push the envelope too far on this. It is hoped that this will be a very inclusive event with drivers of all ability levels participating. We will do our best to sort drivers by ability and provide a very competitive landscape for anyone that wants to race.
