Here it is. The kid holding it is known to some of you as the "Chassinator". Let's see how he fares in his RC18T integrity testing... Anyway, without further ado, here is my new baby!

You like? I can't wait to take it out tomorrow. As I already said, I have only run it in the house so far. The guys at Associated said that it's running around 20-25mph out of the box. Based on performance inside, I can believe it.

I HATE YOU!! I AM SO JEALOUS!!!

Its nice to finally see some different photos. I am shocked you got it so quickly. I was expecting if I ordered one, I'd get mine in early/mid december. I'm curious to know how many runs your son gets with it before it snaps a chassis.

Can you get an off-body shot? And when/if I open an RC18T site.. you'll be one of the first to know. ;)

And welcome to TRCZ Shabba! Glad to see you come from MiniTforum.

Thanks for the welcome. Glad to be here.

I heard of a video used at AE, where they are ramming the truck at WOT into a bar stool over and over and over again. No breakages. Sounds tough. Maybe the Chassinator has met his match. I'll tell you what, though. If the chassis doesn't break, it won't be because of the bumper!!! Wait until you see the thing! It's a joke.

As you requested, here are a couple of "topless" shots.

Do these do the trick?

Here's one a little closer:

Excellent photos. AE's photos are like looking at a photo of a rotating 3D model... it isn't very helpful. No photo can show what hold an RC18T in your hands and holding it at different angles, but thanks for posting those. I've got a few new thoughts now. For example, I can see the motor uses similar plugs as the Mini-T motor. :)

I'm still going nuts trying to order one...

Shabba

Same plugs.

Just as I had assumed.

I just transferred some cash from my Paypal over to my bank account and have a $80 check to cash. Can't wait to order mine!!!!!!!! :excited:

I have some sweet tips and a cool project all ready.

whats the main differences beteen This and a mini T? Cause I kind of wnat a new car and this seems to be fun.

therczone
Nov 27 2004, 12:32 PM
Mini-T is 2WD, RC18T is 4WD. RC18T is far more durable and designed better. RC18T comes with a battery pack (I've heard they are somewhat decent) and charger. If you had nothing but 8 AA batteries and an electrical outlet, you could drive this thing.

Nov 27 2004, 2:13 PM
looks sweet, maybe ill have to get one sometime, how much are they?

Kaymin
Nov 27 2004, 2:16 PM

Awesome.
I'm going to order a Mamba 8000, is that what that is?

And as for the bug body fitting, I don't think so, but I can tell you tomorrow when I go to work. (I work at the LHS...and yes, I got my RC18T at cost.)

The shocks stick up through the body, so you must use KansasCajun's team losi mini-t extended body mounts tip.

I am expecting AE to hit themselves on the head and say "oh shit, we didn't make extended body mounts!". They should be releasing some soon..

bigbob
Dec 01 2004, 6:44 PM
how fast do you think it toppes out at?

therczone
Dec 01 2004, 6:50 PM
I havn't driven mine yet... so I can't say.

I tried on the stock mini-t body and the Proline Hummer H2 body. Both would fit, if AE would release some extended body mounts. Otherwise, your stuck stock. :(

Dec 01 2004, 9:39 PM
I told you I'd be mad if you got one before me.... and even though you ordered yours a week before I picked mine up, I still beat you.

I'm just messing with ya! Be sure to get some photos!! And I'm sure the stocker electronics are as rare as gold right now. Might get some nice $$ for them. ;)

I can promise both of you is a blast to drive. I had to turn down the DR on my controler while playing inside, it kept traction rolling!

Kaymin
Dec 02 2004, 5:54 PM
dude! my 8.4v airsoft packs fit! and its fast! I love this thing, haven't even used the stock battery yet! no brakes is making me mad though!!!

therczone
Dec 02 2004, 6:20 PM
Thats why you need to throw your Mamba that's been waiting so patiently with you in.

Shabba
Dec 02 2004, 6:22 PM
no brakes is making me mad though!!!

So it's not just me, eh? I can't get it to break, either. With 4WD, it's less important that it is with the Mini-T because you can enter corners much faster, but it would still be nice to have better breaks.

Kaymin
Dec 02 2004, 6:24 PM
my mamba has to wait becuase the excuse for getting the mamba and rc18t were for my science project so I have to record some data with the original stuff still in there.

Dec 02 2004, 6:25 PM

I got my first RC18T a couple of weeks ago. We picked it up at the shop and took it back to my office ... the battery that came with it had enough charge that we ran it in the warehouse for over half an hour!!!

It runs great on my outside dirt track, and can through gravel almost as well as my Revo in the driveway.

My grandson wanted a blue one, but all they had at the time was red, so I picked up the red one so he could see if he really wanted it. He like it so much he didn't want to wait another week for the blue, and bought the red one from me ... I picked up the blue one the following week for me. The only problem we've had so far was he got some moisture in the ESP and it stopped working ... opened it up, blue it out with canned air, and it's back on the road. The thing has really taken a beating on our track and is doing great.

Yes they did, My better idea was to use the tc3 posts instead of the losi extended post kit as reccomended in that thread, obviously someone at AE gave this some thought long before you or I ever even had our grubby little hands on a RC18t.

I take credit for nothing other than pointing out that the tc3 body posts will fit on the rc18t, and sharing that with all the good folks at the One 18th forums.

Enjoy.

Now go have fun!

Making body mounts for different bodies is not rocket science. You can make do with your spares. I'll post pics later of how simple it is!

therczone
Jun 02 2005, 8:50 PM
The Associated TC3 rear body posts work on the rear shocktower of the RC18T. If you use a rear shocktower in front as well, you can put the TC3 body posts in front and back and use more bodies. It raises the front I think if you do that though.

Jun 03 2005, 2:29 PM
I never said it was rocket science. Evidentally, there are people on here who do not know me and my sense of humor. I make every billet part on my r/c's and never said no one else could make them.
