A strong and durable plastic often used in radio controlled vehicles and equipment. Nylon is very flexible and can be dyed different colors with RIT dye. Nylon was developed in 1935 by Wallace Carothers, a chemist working for DuPont. The first nylon product was a toothbrush with nylon bristles.
